i'm fairly new to avaya ip office 500, i used to have a definity g3 that i supported , so its why i chose avaya 500 v2.
i got it all going on a combo card and a few digital phones, and embedded VM, but now i'm wondering how do i do a SIP trunk instead of using POTS lines, i have a good internet connection and i can get a decent deal on some SIP trunks from a company a friend of mine works with. what i'm not sure on is if there is a license requirement or if i need VCMs or anything like that

any insight would be greatly appreciated.

You need sip trunk lincenses.
You also need VCM channels but the combocard already has 10 VCM channels.
So if you do not go over 10 sip trunk channels then you are OK with that.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I have no idea to be honest.
They are not expensive but i do not know the exact prices.

NPL on the SIP Trunk Licenses is $75 for one, $340 for 5, $640 for 10 and $1200 for 20. Your Avaya BusinessPartner can probably sell them for much less. For instance, we sell the single channel for $50 and the 5 Channel for $250.

acollard, throw me your contact info
i've been buying things from metroline and figuring out the thing on my own, its fairly easy once i find what checkbox to click or wire/card to buy but getting the info and good pricing is a different story.
