I could't find a generic category, but as I am working on a plan to get rid of that old IP Office that died last night; the plan would be get SIP phones running and get a SIP Gateway. Is there SIP gateways that can enable the other SIP phones to call one another and dial out on an analog gateway and run it on one appliance. Is there such solution other than building a PC and slap a bloated distro of Asterisk?

Another ipo would work nicely :) edgy

I would be hard pushed to think of a worse solution than the one you are suggesting.

Even Hosted IP telephoney would be better than trying to connect SIP extns to a local analog trunk.

no cloud whatsoever.

sorry if that question appeared to be demented.

Customer is actually cutting the cord. No worries about any new phone system.

Thanks all for answering both questions.
