I have a SIP trunk set up with our IP500 V2 running 6.1(5). I orginally set the SIP trunk up on 6.0(18). After I upgraded to 6.1(5) all the SIP stuff worked correctly. The issue I am having is with mobile twinning. I tried setting up mobile twinning and the call will go from the IP Office to the twinned phone(non office phone) but when you answer the twinned phone (non office phone) you get dead air. If you go to the phone system handset you can hit the twinning button and take the call. I have tried forwarding a call and that works correctly so it is leading me to believe this might be a 6.1(5)issue. Has anyone ran into this problem? We only have SIP lines for inbound and outbound. Another problem I found due to the mobile twinning issue is that when I downgrade the IP Office back to 6.0(18) I am not able to make incoming calls to the phone sytem. Any suggestions on why my SIP trunk works with 6.1(5)but will not work when I downgrade to 6.0(18). I thought maybe I would go to 6.0(18) to test the mobile twinning but without my SIP trunk working on 6.0(18) I am not able to test the mobile twinning. Any suggestions is much appreciated.

Michael

Thanks Michael

There are form changes on the SIP section between V6 and V6.1. This more than likely causes SIP config corruption when upgrading and downgrading. I'd imagine if you delete and recreate the line you'll be golden. Also, I've heard that STUN can be a bit funny on V6. Are you using this?

I am using STUN. I did notice that on the 6.1(5) I will try and re enter the information.

Thanks Michael

Smash,

Thanks for your input. I found in the 6.0(18) the registration required box needs ticked. When you go back down to from 6.1(5) it does not automatically tick this box. Still no luck with twinning. Must be the SIP provider.

Thanks Michael

For the twinning is the call coming in on the SIP as well? Think this is where the problem is occurring as it sounds like the voice media stream is being broken somewhere. Check your router/firewall config.

As Smash mentioned, delete the trunk, make a new one, and change the STUN to a public stun server and not the one supplied by default.
