simple question for newbie 1

What OS are you using on the client?
If it's Win 9.X, go to the printers folder, pick the printer, do a right click to get to the properties, and disable the notify.
If it's a Windows 2000 machine, go to Control Panel, click on CSNW (client service for Netware) and find the tab with the notify checkbox - uncheck it. It's checked by default.
If you're using the latest Novell Client, open the Novell Client Configuration, and wade through all the tabs to get to the Default Capture tab. Down at the bottom, you'll see a notify checkbox that you can uncheck.
