I was hoping that someone could anwser a question about a frame-relay connection speed issue. I have tried searching and reading other posts, but to no avail.

I have a lab here for testing before deployment. I have two cisco routers (3600 as DCE and 1600 as DTE). There is a LAN on each router and the 1600 si connected to a firewall / internet.

If I transfer files from the 1600 LAN or Internet to the 3600 LAN, it is painfully slow (about 8k). On the DCE I have the clock rate set to 64000.

Forgive my ignorance (it's bliss) but should this not be about 56k or 64K speed?

Any ideas or input would be great (even if you just tell me that it is supposed to work like this!)

Thanks

64kbit = 8kbytes.... Try upping your rate if you want a faster throughput.

Not sure what the 1600 supports, but I know the 3600 supports up to 4mbit.
