Setting up SMB scanning the other day, from a Ricoh MFP, this customer had only 2 machines and both had XP home.
Usually in XP Pro I turn off "Simple File Sharing" in order to set the permissions (full control) but couldn't find it in the usual place, (Tools>Folder options>View).
Fortunately I was able to just put the "scan" folder in the Shared Documents Section and share it there. Then after adding passwords to the comp, I was able to browse to it from the MFP and complete the setup.
Question is: Where in Home is "Simple File sharing" or can you turn it off in Home?
