On a Workgroup network of 5 PCs, all running XP Pro, Each of the PCs can have full sharing access with each other, as specified, except for one which refuses access to all others. It was OK until a ISP tech got into it to try and sort out a dialup problem ( since then it is all Broadband) and from that time on I havent been able to return the system to full ( any...) sharing. It can access all others and use printers, move files..etc..
Recently (another network) I was stepped through an unusual sharing procedure by a software support person and used a totally different way of sharing, that is, you could ( and must, in that case) use a wider range of sharing conditions.
I'm now thinking that this might be the reason for the other problem. From what I can see I think this comes under Regular file sharing. However, for the life of me I just cant find the properties options screen that has the Permissions, User limit, Caching choices..
I know its only available under Pro and not Home as that was the root problem on the software sharing exrcise with the support person.
Can anyone tell me how to set up sharing to enable these options. ( I'm hoping that will fix the main, existing situation.)
