Simple DNS Examples

Is there a site somewhere that has some practical examples on how to set up a simple DNS server configuration? I have a "hobby" webserver that hosts mainly my personal website and a couple of friend's sites. It's running Win2k3 as a primary domain controller with AD & DNS. Right now I've mostly been using the ISP's DNS server to route domain requests to my box, however, I'd like to begin using my own mainly as a learning experience (I know...be careful what you wish for!) I've "played" with some of the settings, got the box registered with Godaddy as a nameserver for my main domain and actually got one website to route there correctly using my DNS but I really don't understand it very well and "tree" in the "Forward lookup zone" doesn't really make that much sense to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Did you read all the documentation that came with it? How about the help files?
