Shutting down while running defrag

Hi,

This question is relating to Windows XP and the built in defrag tool. Does anyone know if harm will come to a machine if it is shutdown during the middle of a defrag?

I wouldn't expect any problems if normal method of shutdown is used.....but I've never tried it. If you're talking about a power outage or something, that could be quite bad.
