Hi all,
in the next week i've to shutdown all my switches due to maintenance on our electrical environment.

My question is :
starting to the point that i've port security enabled on my switches, does someone know if the switch keeps the mac-addresses learnt or it loose them ?

Thanks in advance

Rgds

definityman:

I have port security enable on my 1900 switches. I had a bad power cord the other day and I power down about five switches without thinking about would those switches come up ok. It did come up ok without disabling all the ports. I guess the MAC are stored in flash RAM instead of learn becasue if it is learned then someone could switch the switch off and their computer will be in the network if they can get to your closet.

Best wished to all the switches!
