Hello

I have a gateway laptop 9100 with W2KPro loaded. It's always automatically shutdown all the way until a few days ago. Now it halts on the screen that says, "It's safe to shut down your computer". Just wondered what has changed and why it did change. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have the same problem with a Samsung VM7000 series laptop with W2K server loaded on it. W2K doesn't even get to the it is not safe to shutdown screen. It just displays the desktop background with no icons and the mouse cursor still works.

I am going to go through the emergency repair process, but the machine also runs SQL server and following a similar incident a couple of months back, it totally messed up SQL. I've searched the microsoft site and cannot find any articles relating to the problem. I'll let you know if the ERP fixes the problem.
