Shrink Database

I'm considering running the shrink database on a 13Gig DQL Server 7 Sp4 database.

Is there anything I should bear in mind before I do it ?

How long will it take ? Do I need a certain amount of free disk space ?

Issue a Checkpoint before doing DBCC shrinkdb
