Hi all

How do you get the page number to appear on each page of a cross tab report( ie. generated from crystal)?

as far as Ik now (and I may be wrong) you cannot put a page number on a cross tab....

I just taught this technique in my advanced class today, and will be putting it in my next newsletter.

You have to create a formula that is a constant, and group the report by that formula (essentially putting all of the records in one group).

Now you move the Cross-tab from the Report Header to the Group Header of this group. The GH is between the PH and PF, while the RH is not, so now you get room for page numbers. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

very cool - crystal kbase says you cant use pagenumbers with crosstabs..interesting.

you should send THEM a copy of your training material! :) sounds like they could use it!

Ken's work around is excellent. This will allow page numbers on every main, vertical page of the crosstab.

Please note, however, that page numbers will not appear on any of the 'virtual' horizontal pages. There is an additional work around for this, however, it really only works (aesthetically) if you have a consistent amount of records (for example, your crosstab always spans two full horizontal pages).
