Showing Drill Down Magnifying Glass Symbol in Group Tree

It seems that unless I hide or suppress all group sections in my report, the turquoise magnifying glass symbols do not appear in the group tree. I'd like to have the symbol display next to all groups in the group tree when doing a summary report so that the symbol gives some visual cue that there is more information to drill down on. But I can't have a summary report when I'm having to hide the very sections that need to be seen to make it a summary report (group header/footer).

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks...
