I have created a program that extracts information from an SQL server. When the user's search loads up the form with the datagrid the enire program drops from view during the data download. (The desktop or whatever other program that may be running displays)
I wanted to use a form with a message to the user to let him know that the program is running and data is being retrieved. I thought either a progress bar or an animation control which will loop an avi would be good to display during the download.

What method or code can be used to display this form while the download is ocurring and what method or code could be used to then close the animation form and show the form with the datagrid?

I think there must be some ado methods but I have not been able to get them to work.

Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Dwight
