It will run just fine on that machine,,,,,,,,
I personally have seen a computer that I built, which was similar (actually a weaker system), that was an
AMD K6/2 450
128 MB'S RAM,
and they installed XP Pro on it. It really ran Fine.
I was surprised. My own requirements, UP TO THAT TIME, where P-III 600 MHz, and 256 MB's RAM.
Now I know, after seeing this computer run with XP, that what you have would be ok.
***** DO NOT use the Celeron 450 instead of the Pentium II 400 MHz. That would be a Downgrade.
I ran XP Pro pn and AMD K6-2 500Mhz with 128Mb of SDRAM, and it ran sweet.
mind you....runs even better now on my Duron 950Mhz with 128Mb of DDR.....I know, I need another 128Mb of ram to really egt the potential going, but it runs sweet with no probs at the moment....
Ran XP on a AMD k6-350Mhz with 190(something)MB of SDRAM and it worked fine. Although I did take out the hard drive and put it in another tower (800Mhz Duron).
I also put XP on (temporarily) a 500 Mhz PIII and it ran well.
DO not put XP on a slow comp, I installed XP on a AMD-k6 400mhz comp and it is veeerrrry slow, go with 98 or ME they run faster though lack the reliability of XP...
I got XP pro on a PII 266 W/ 704mb of ram and it runs suprisingly well for how old it is, Does not run quite as fast as ME did on it, but an NT based OS is so much more stable
