Should I Add HeapDecommitFreeBlockThreshold?

I have an HP Proliant dual 3.0 gig Zeon box with 4gigs of mem. 6 36gig hdd. I've added the /3GB /USERVA=3030 I remember in class the instructor informed me not to use this hack, but I forgot why. Should I or not?

If you look at the install notes for SP1 it says specifically that the above hack should be used on a W2003 system.
