Is there any way of retrieving the target path of a shortcut in ASP?

By "shortcut", you mean "HTML link" or windows OS shortcut ? Water is not bad as long as it stays out human body ;-)

there is in WSH.
there's an wshshortcut object that has a targetpath property.

but i dont know if you can access wsh from asp. i'd be surprised if u could somehow.

maybe you need an activex control.

Thanks for the feedback browolf, Unfortunately a .vbs would have to be run from ASP using the WSH shell command.

I think activex is my only option in this case.
