We have upgraded IP Office to 4.2 (17) and voicemal pro to 4.2 (30) and some of our short codes are not working.
the short codes that go to a voicemail module to test it are the biggest problem. such as recordings, this is where we change our Auto att greetings.
Short code is *83
feature is voicemail collect
Tel # is "recordings"
Line group id is 0

I have changed to voicemail node, no help.
Any ideas.

You need to have "?recordings"

But when i need to do this i always make a "shortocdes" in vmpro instead of a module

Then you nee dto change your shortcode to

*83
Voicemail node
recordings
line id 0

This always works
Your shortcode works sometimes and sometimes not !

voicemail collect is the correct feature and "recordings" is the correct way to enter it into the Tel number field. Is it definatley the correct spelling as in VM Pro i.e no spaces at the end or anything? Try making a module called "test" with just a clock action in or something and test a shortcode to that. :)

amriddle, i have had terrible problems with using shortcodes and modules
Once it worked straight away and a week later not (same customer)

The option is called shortcodes and that has a reason !

I know, I hadn't seen your response when I posted, I was answering the original post.

I do use "recordings" not "?recordings" when targeting modules though and never had a fail yet.....must have been lucky there :)

I looked in to the knowledgebase and there is mentioned that if you use a moduile then it shoudl only have "recording" and not the ?

But i really needed it to get it working the first time and the second time it did not work

Thanks for the fast replys.
I tried ?Recordings, no luck.
I 1st had this setup as a short code in voicemail pro.
Avaya had me change it to a module.
But I have always set it up as a shortcode with no problem
4.2 does something new, it adds the " marks or deletes them

did you come from 4.0 when you upgraded?

shortcodes where weird at one point in the IPO (I thought it was only 4.0 but might have been the 4.1) and needed manual intervention to work properly. It added the "quotation marks" to it and that sometimes caused problems. in 4.2 with the shortcode then voicemail node and the name of the shortcode programmed in the VM Pro it should work. Naming is extrememly important including upper and lower case.
If you have a Recording Module then make a shortcode in the Voicemail named something else like toRecording and send the startpoint directly to the module change the shortcode in the IP Office to go to the toRecording shortcode and it will work again.
Sounds more complicated then it is, you could also delete the module named Recordings and (before deleting) copy the entire content of it into a new shortcode and send the calls to the new shortcode.

I never use "?name" to access VM Pro, the main reason is because it will show on a telset display and it will introduce a delay of a few seconds before VM Pro answers the call.
Use the method to call a module straight away and use debug view to see what happens in VM pro.
