I have a volume e: shared for use on a mac. The whole drive is being shared. I wanna add a user so that when they log in, they only SEE one folder in the drive. So, I tried to add a new share, with just that folder, but i got an error saying that i can not add a share within a share. Is this true?? Any ideas??

of course you can create a share within a share, please describe what you did...

You can, but since you only want the user to see the folder, why not share just the folder... i.e.

share c:\myshares to those who need to see c:\myshares and every subfolder and share c:\myshares\thisfolder to those who only need to see thisfolder in myshares. If there is information in c:\myshares that you want to share but not the subfolders, you will need to go to those specific subfolders and in the properties/securities tab uncheck the inherited permissions; then assign permissions to only those groups who are allowed. That way a user can see c:\myshares but not have NTFS permissions to c:\myshares\thisspecificfolder

When i went to create the new share i.e. e:\myshares\thisfolder, it gave me an error saying that "Cannot create a Macintosh-Accessible volume within another volume. Choose a directory that is not within a volume.
