We run a full backup for Sharepoint Portal Server v1 on Monday night. We checked the status of it Tuesday and found that it had an error saying that some 18 Gb file was corrupt. We have 2 workspaces on the server, those backed up fine. We are using Vertias Backup Exec v9.1 to backup Sharepoint.
What information is stored in the Sharepoint Portal Server Backup as opposed to the workspace backups. (We have a total of 3 backups.) Can we restore the Sharepoint Portal Server backup without screwing up the data in the workspaces? Or, can we restore the portal server backup from a date before it was corrupted and then restore the latest workspace backups, since those aren't corrupt and did backup fine? We looking for any clues on how to remove this problem.
Thanks,
