Hello,
I have purchased two books I found useful.
Microsoft SharePoint Building Office 2003 Solutions (this book target development of SharePoint)
Microsoft SharePoint Products & Technologies Resource Kit
(This is targeted to Technical staff and installation, setup and customization of sharepoint)
Both these books covers both Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Portal Server.
