Just wondering if anyone has any advice on the following:

We currently have a hp 9500 mfp with 8 tray output bin on trial. I have set up a shared printer for one department with specific output bin settings and security code for private jobs. The problem is that when the user connects to the printer they do not get the settings which I have specified. My knowledge of printing is a little rusty but I thought the user would get these settings. Is there anyway around this, I do not want to visit a 100+ users setting this up.

If the settings you are interested in are contained in the "Printer Poperties" menu, then they will apply to all connections.

However, if the settings are in "Printer Preferences", they are different for each connection.

Hope this helps.

You can also set the "Default Preferences" which will be what each user gets initially.

Also it depends on the client O/S.

Rather than visits there are ways of exporting the settings out of the registry server side and getting them to imiport at login time on the client side as long as you are careful.
