i've never had much problems with w2k after sp1. i just
installed sp2 and i decided to share my hd through admin.
w2k did just the opposite. instead of sharing everything
it unshared my admin and every profile with it. even to a
point that my virtual memory could not be axcessed. i
could not go into safe mode(completly useless for w2k
becuase it does not use generic drivers so if things get
bad safe mode is out(why have it?)) it tried erd and
realized i didn't know there was a erd disk to make
(where)???? i did a setup and repair but the files could
not be copied onto the harddisk. i think its because of
the corrupted rights....(at first i thought my w2k cd was
bad and tried a friends, got the same response). through
the console i was able extract important files but one
file at a time????? I needed more than that(like
directories)... I have my harddrive partitioned twice.
just incase of problems, like now.... How do i save my
info if not able to network in console and not able to
copy multiple directories and/or files????? i think i lost
my faith in w2k. That was way too simple too crash. in
win98/95 i could at least save the customers info and
rebuild windows or reinstall....... right now w2k is
reinstalled and its a clean install. also for info i
tested my hardware with pc-check for 34 hours and nothing
showed up bad...
