Shared Calendar - conflicting appointments

We use shared calendars in Outlook2k / Exchange2k. How can I prevent two people from entering in appointments/events for overlapping time periods?

To whom does the shared calendar belong?
It should be a resource, such as a conference room.
Check with your Exchange admin.

The calendar in question is under "All Public Folders". It is a team planning calendar. Essentially, person A scheduled something from 9 to 5. Then person B scheduled something from 2 to 3. The system did not say that there was a conflict, and we need it to.

Is it set to show the time as busy? I'm not sure how calendars work, but I believe RESOURCE calendars will not allow overlaps. I would imagine that TEAM calendars WOULD, by default.

Anyway...check with your Exchange server admin--they should have those answers for you. If they don't, I do believe we've got an Exchange server forum right here at tek-tips.
