I am coming from a novell environment so bare with me. I created a shared called Vol1..gave domain users access to read everything under Vol1. Now, under Vol1, there is a Foldr called accounting. I gave the group accounting full control to that folder. everything is fine except for the accounting users cannot create new folders under the accounting folder. ????

any input would be appreciated

your share permissions have to be equivalent to or less restrictive than your sub-folder permissions if you want to set it up in this manner.

One more question... I turned off the inherited option and just granted the groups I want to have access. would I run into any problems by doing that?
