Sever 2003 standard and 802.1q... 1

Can Microsoft server 2003 standard be made to see traffic tagged with 802.1q encapsulation? I would like to use the server as a monitoring server but I need it to be able to see my VLAN tagged traffic. Anyone know if this is possible?

It's a NIC driver thing..... Most NIC's support this but by default the 802.1q tags are stripped off before the driver passes them up the stack. You can normally make a registry change to enable this monitoring capabiliy. I have an Intel PRO/100+ adapter in a PC that has all the bindings removed and is used solely for monitoring.

I have a Broadcom Gigabit adapter in my notebook as well and there is an equivilent setting for this but I can't seem to find the link I had.
