When \i run wssetup on the server machine to setup a local instance of goldmine enterprise edition, the installation stop responding at the point where it says preparing to guide you through the configuration process. Please wait..

The next button never darkens,

What could be causing this?

Clarification. When I run the file wssetup.exe which resides on the server, from a desktop it freezes.

AH! Sorry for misunderstanding...

What operating system is the client you're running from?

Can you run it from other clients without freezing?

What local rights does the user you're using on the client have? I'd suggest administrator rights.

Have you tried disabling anti-virus on the client?

Have you tried clearing anything in the temp folder on the client (typically, in NT based OS's like 2000 or XP, you can find the temp folder in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\ folder.) Try deleting anything in there older than the last time you booted up the machine and then run the setup...
