Setup out-of-band management system.

I've found an AS2511-RJ access server sitting in a pile of junk at one of our sites. The device is in good condition, and I heard that I can just attach a modem to it, and use the 16 async port to connect rollover cable to console ports of other cisco devices, to have an alternative to managing these devices besides VPN or SSH (for example, if the T1 is down). Can anyone point me to any config examples or any helpful real life environment uses.
