Can anyone please help me with a tip what to do when several Install Shield´s setup.exe -files do not install on my PC (win XP pro). They work on my other machine (same XP)! Do I have to configure somewere? Is something wrong with the installer? Were to find a new (free) one? The first step is ok; the files are extacted to local../temp.., but there it stops. The setup.exe on that location dosen´t co-operate?!?
THANKS FOR ANY IDEAS!

This problem with InstallShield has multiple possible reasons. Go to the InstallShield site for an enumeration of possible causes.

You do have Administrative privileges on the box, right? You might as a quick check look at the NTFS permission settings for your C drive to make sure your username is there without restrictions.

Have you tried using System Restore to go back before the problem?

See if any of these links lead you anywhere.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows itself by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.
