Settling EDC batch question

In quite a predicament:

We will be without internet until tomorrow, so I'm worried the EDC will clear the offline credit card batch at 4am when it can't settle, thus losing those CC sales for the day.
Is there any way to prevent this from happening? Or is it time to go to the carbon-copy crash kit credit card sliders and wait until we have internet to punch them all in manually?

... Which system are you on? You should be able to just settle the batch later. If you are on Micros, go to the Credit Card Batch program and click Batch. Pretty simple.

We use Aloha here at the restaurant. At 4am the system restarts completely (clocks out employees who are still clocked in, ect.) Will the transactions still be saved in the EDC if it can't settle then?

If you are in spooling mode ie:edc is in the stop POS processing mode then it wont settle the batch while it's stopped. If you don't automatically settle your batch every night - by logging into edc and selecting settle batch then you have a scheduled task that places the settling file in the processor path.
This file needs to be deleted before turning on your EDC processing.

Cheers,
Coorsman
