Setting up php on windows 2000 server

hi hope this is the right forum
I wont to start using PHP for our website in school and need to set the system up on a windows 2000 server. we have already got an intranet and internet site working off the server and i am having difficulty with setting up php on the server and every reference i semb to be able to find concerns the setting up of the system with apache php sembs to be working but when i try to get some of the freely downloadable scripts to work i have no success at all. does anyone no of an idiots guide to setting up Mysql and Php via a windows 2000 server system.

I would be greatfull for any help at all. Someone is willing to help me with the Mysql & PHP programing side if i can only set it up on the server first.

http://youe-server/index.php,

what do you get?
