I'm new to tcp/ip networking so don't mind me asking this probably simple question...
I'm trying to understand how the web hosting is working... Particular part that confuses me is the resolution of ip addresses... If particular files (web site) are stored in folders that are sitting on the same machine with the same ip address, but each web site belongs to separate domain and has it's own ip address, how that particular ip address is resolved? In other words when DNS server resolves the domain name how does it find the server that hosts the site and how does the server itself knows that particular ip address directged to the particular folder where site files are stored...
Links or any reading material would be very helpful...
Thanks for your time,
Peter
