My wifes jobsite has a Merlin Magix. They are full on ports dig&analog. She runs a marina and her phone is a 4406 and the other 2 are analogs. Her phone got popped in a storm and needs to be replaced. What phone model does she need to allow for a queue on their main #? Was I limited by the 4406 like I thought I was?

Well, not knowing exactly how your system is set up to provide the "QUEUE", (it could be done by the service provider) I can tell you this, a 44xx series phone must be replaced with another 44xx series phone.
That part is cast in concrete.
Now which one you get would be up to you.
The 4400 has no buttons, and in essence is a single line phone.
You already know about the 4406.
The 4412 has 12 buttons with lights and 12 more you can use for speed dials or other non-lighted button features.
The 4424 D+ has 24 buttons with lights.
And the big deal of the day is:
The 4424 LD+ which has the programming screen and 24 buttons with lights.
Of course, the operator position probably already has one of those.

I wasn't very clear..........sorry
They don't have queueing even being used on the system. They don't even know its an option. Through trying to enable it in programming I discovered a place in documentation that stated I needed a bigger phone . Does that make any sense?

My understanding was I couldn't make a call queue at their marina without a "supervisor" type phone to administer everything. If so, by replacing the 4406 with something else that perhaps meets the requirements to supervise a queue would be an option. Should I get a different set? Is that required for queueing?
The thing that is throwing me is "queue" and "queueing".
The 4424LD+ is used to locally administer the Merlin Magix. If you have access to WinSPM, you can call into the system and administer it remotely.
The 4424LD+ is also used to help program the auto attendant/voicemail.

Perhaps you should define what you want to do in regards to the queue - then we would be able to advise you on how to set that up, and if you would need a different model phone for the supervisor.

Ok here goes. There are 3 extensions in a room, one being a DID main number called regularly, and two of them for calling out and interoffice calls. When the DID is called and that phone is busy, it goes to that extension's voicemail. 2 are analogs and one is a 4406d.
Is there a way to make calls not go to voicemail directly but, ring the other phones in the office for a set number of rings then return to the DID phones Vmail?
Also, going the other direction, could I make it to where if all phones are busy the caller is listening to music while waiting for a phone to become available, but still having a timer to send the call to voicemail if the call is waiting too long?
I hope I simplified this thread

If you were going to do the full on calling groups with queuing, you would probably want to replace the single line sets with multiline. You don't really need a supervisor position.
An easier solution would be to put Primary Coverage buttons for the DID extension on the other two. They would ring simultaneously, and cover to the DID's mailbox when not answered. Multiline phones would also be a plus here. And even though they are single line phones, they have "buttons" in programming.

Just assign the DID extension to the Voice Mail Coverage Group, usually 30.
Extensions > More > Group Cover > 30 > Enter > Ext. No. > Enter
