I hve a dsl router/hub with a built-in dhcp server and it works great, but I've turned that feature off now to instead use a 2000 server for dhcp functionality.
Since RIS seems to need a dhcp server I think it's best, so as not to have two dhcp servers fighting each other.
The problem is that I have no idea how to set it up in w2k server. I've tried to follow MS paper on RIS setup but it doesn't really deal with the setup of DHCP and DNS, they just assume those bits are already up and running.
Anyone got help on this, or a beginner's guide to DHCP and DNS setup on w2k server, I'd be thrilled.
This is pretty much the network in whole right now:
----------------DSL/Router-----------

Macintosh client Standard 100mbit hub

Win2k pro client WIN2K SERVER
The DSL-router has a firewall in it, but seeing how the clients and the server are all behind it, it shouldn't make a difference, correct?
Best regards
