I have Apache, Php, MySQL, etc installed on my Xp Pro pc for the testing of php web sites. Up to now, I have used the HOSTS file for domain name resolution in the browser, but now that i have a lan, i need a proper dns server on my pc aswell.

I have downloaded and installed BIND9 windows binary, but im confused by the setup instructions. Please can someone explain to me (newbie style) how to get BIND up and running!

Many thanks, Dave Pusey.

It doesnt matter now. I have a working DNS server. (It's not BIND9, but it does the job!)

Thanks anyway,
