Ok, here is my question again, noting had helped yet. woundering if someone out there can help me solve it.

I'am now running win2k pro. I have a ethernet card connected to my DSL modem, that is my internet connection.
I also have a ordinary modem in my computer which i want to use to route the internet traffic to a friends computer..

MY COMPUTER Friends Comp
Etheret -------DSL MODEM
Modem----------------------------------------Modem

It's the modem to modem transfer of internet traffic I can't get working. HE can't ping something. and don't get any traffic. just can't connect to my computer.. i have "accept incoming connections", and "allow users to use the LAN".
And have test a Varius of diffrent settings..

Now my question, do i have to use WIN2k Server to solve this problem, or can it be done with win2k pro. And if.. please help me in some way to do it.. Thanx.

Best Regards

HI!

Let's see:

* Using ICS seems problematic, as I don't think that it supports sharing an Ethernet connection (DSL) to RAS clients.

* Using RAS only and giving your friend access to the LAN, does not work also since the DSL modem and ISP will probably not accept the IP of your friends RAS connection.

So, why not try a 3rd party solution?

Here is a free , small and simple proxy program - try using it:

Bye
