Hi,

I have recently set up a dialer interface. It is quite possible that the other end of the link may be down or in use by another person. So my question is how can you set the maximum number of retries on a dialer interface before it stops dialing? I am assuming it is against the dialer but it may be against the physical which in this case is a virtual serial.

Thanks in advance.

Marc

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, as have never used it myself, but have a look at the "dialer max-calls x" command in dialer interface config mode.

OK, forget that last one. Should have done my research first.

dialer max-call
To specify, for a dialer profile, the maximum number of links to a remote destination that can be up at any one time, use the dialer max-call interface configuration command.
