Can you please help. I am trying to set defaults of a text box in a form that resides within a form by using the set value action in a Macro on open. When I open the form I get a message saying that "You can't assign a value to this object". I thoght that i may be referencing the object incorrectly or have incorrect settings on the text box. The control source for the text box is a table

Thanks

the text box is supposed to display the entire table?

why not the form set to the table, and the text box set to a value within the table?

Try the Load event instead of the Open one.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks for your response - not sure I explained the problem
The text box in the subform displays one entry on a table and is set to a value within the table. I would like to reset the contents of the textbox (in the subform)and subsequently the entry in the table to 0(zero) each time I open the main form

Thanks
