Hi I am using crystal reports developer version 9 and was trying to set the colours of each bar on a bar chart. In the design mode only 4 bars are shown for each data location on the x axis even though when I run the report there can be up to 10 bars one for each location. I was able to set the colours of the first 4 bars by selecting the bar and then selecting (format selected item). I then selected a the appropriate gradient color.

The chart produces a graph that shows several locations for each piece of equipment and shows about 4 pieces of equipment per chart.
Thanks.

I was able to set the colors by selecting chart expert, options but still have a problem. The color selection is based on year, just wondering if anyone knows if you can set the colors just based on the order of the bars displayed? Thanks.

AFAIK you can run the report and then select the bar on the chart you want to change and go to selected item and do it there.

Thanks for the response. So do you mean to run the asp.net web program and run the report and change the color then? Seems like you would have to do it from the design mode? Paul.

you'd think so wouldn't you but because Crystal only puts those 4 colours on design you can change them in preview instead!
