I have an Exchange 2003 server that is behind a firewall with POP3 & IMAP disabled. All users connected with Outlook internally, and I have Outlook Web Access enabled for some users to access outside the firewall.

We just added a new employee who uses a Blackberry, and since I won't install Blackberry Enterprise server for just one user, I need to give him some form of access to his email from outside the office via POP3 or IMAP. What is the best approach to this?

I have an ssl cert installed on the Exchange server (to secure communications to OWA), so I can use it to secure communications via POP or IMAP as well, but in doing research about this, it has been suggested that I set up another virtual server. Not sure if this makes sense . . .

I appreciate the help!

kzn, thanks for the response!

Unfortunately, I work in entertainment, and "cult of personality" is the order of the day- hence, certain users get what they want!

In this case, though I've tried already, I can't get him off the Blackberry thing, and he's sufficiently powerful enough that I can't just fall back on policy. So, I'm stuck.

How is the OMA thing working for you? I've got a couple of Exchange Activesync users and it works OK, but I've never tried OMA, as OWA for mobile devices just struck me as running slow in a browser. How have your users been with the experience?
