Hi there,

I have a public calendar that I want to set as my default calendar in Outlook 2003. I can view the calendar under "Other Calendars" but it does not stay as my default calendar when I log off.

Any ideas how to set this calendar permanently as my default calendar?

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

You cannot do that as it is not 'your' Calendar.
However, you could start a second instance with that Calendar as parameter, it will then open an Outlook session with that Calendar.

Hi Marc,

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry, maybe I'm being a bit thick here but can you please explain what you mean by "a second instance"?

Thanks

I see. I don't think that's going to be acceptable for the end user though (the MD in this case!) I can envisage him opening Outlook in the calendar view, then checking his emails and then later clicking on his default calendar which will appear empty. I think I'm going to have to just train him not to use his default calendar.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Users will always want something that is not there by design, I learned to say 'no' .. period. It only gives issues later.
