Set %FILE_SERVER Variable question

Hi all you guru's

I have a need to change the %File_Server variable for my login script. Currently this is set by default to the first Server that you make an attachment to. I wish to force a change to the variable for our remote Citrix users (Only a few users)so that they may map to a different server. Currently we use the variable extensively in our login script and unfortunately they cannot be changed. eg
MAP ROOT G:%FILE_SERVER/DATA:etc\etc

If I could change the value of this variable for the default then I could make a group statement for my small group of users.eg
If member of "citrix_group" then MAP ROOT G:%FILE_SERVER/DATA:etc\etc

Any help would be appreciated as Citrix support was not much help.

If you're going to only have it run for a certain group, why don't you just use the server name instead of a variable?

Hi again

I wish it was that easy.....
The %FILE_SERVER Variable appears right throughout the login script and is used extensively for our group drive mappings. I belive the %File_Server variable is called a identifier variable, but still have no information on how to change its value.

I don't quite understand your logic, but look up this TID and see if it helps you with DOS environment variables.

I still think it would be easier to just reference the server directly.

Thanks for the TID, I will print that off and give it ago if I have no success with the last changes I made.
I have tried the "%0" variable in place of the "%FILE_SERVER" and the results look better, but time will tell.
Our Scripts have worked for years without a problem, but now a few users want to connect via Citrix and it has raised a new problem. What happen is via a citrix remote session when the script runs when lauching a published application it make an unwanted Server attachment to a server in the incorrect context. Because it is the first attachment sets the %FILE_SERVER Variable then we get a page full of mapping errors as these users do not belong and do not have rights to this Server.
Citrix support said it was a Novell problem, but we know its not.
