Hi

We have a user who wants to change his background colour in Word 2002 SP2, fine click on Format/Background and select a colour... close word and open word up again to find that the background has default back to white.

Does anyone know how to force this change?

The only way i know is to set it to a blue background with white text. And this is setup in tools > options > general. Anybody else have any other replies?, as I would also like to know any other way. [pc]

The default file that opens when you start Word is NORMAL.DOT. After making the background change, save as NORMAL.DOT and that should make it the default from now on. Since this is a document template, you'll have to change the FILE OF TYPE when you save. Do a search for NORMAL.DOT to find it, since it will can be in various places, depending on your OS version and installation choices. Hope this helps. Michael
