This seems to be a common problem but I have yet to find a resolution to it.
I just installed BE 10.0 on my server. The Device and Media Service will not start. When I try to start it manually it says the database can't be found. The database is installed and working well. Recently we changed the administrator password. When we changed the password we had an older version of BE. After the next reboot it stopped working immedietly.
What I don't understand is that the administrator password was the only thing that changed. No permissions that I can tell. It has to be tied into that but I cant figure it out. I tried manually starting the service with the new and old password but I get the same database error.
I run SQL server 2000 on another server and I connected to the database and browsed the tables, etc. using that so I can connect using the administrator password.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
