I have Windows 2000 Professional installed on my PC.All works fine until I select one .mp3 file in Windows Explorer. When I do that, and only then, I get an increase in my CPU usage of almost 40%.(Example: from 2% to 42%).After I remove the selection from the .mp3 file CPU usage returns to normal.
I have installed SP4 with all the other updates from Microsoft Update (this was installed from the beginning-the day I installed W2K on my computer).
I looked to my Task Manager and the CPU usage is increasing in the following way: first Explorer.exe gets to 99% of the CPU, and then it goes down to zero.Services.exe go up to 34% of CPU and remain in this state until I remove the selection from the mp3 file.
If you have any idea whatsoever, your oppinion will be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Liviu.
