Service Starting and Stopping

Hi,

I have installed a software which is creating a service. I have ran through all the guidelines given by the vendor. At the end of it, the service is created alright. But the service is not starting. The message I am getting is "The eDataQuality service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service." Please help in resolving this. What am I missing?

Services I've seen that start and stop like that have fallen into 2 categories. One being a service that only starts at request to process something. Two being a service that's misconfigured and dies without generating an event log entry.
