Service Pack 7 Causing DOS Application to Go Haywire

After Netware 5.1 SP7 was installed, our DOS application stored on the server is going haywire. We're using Dataflex. All of a sudden the workstations couldn't read a registration file that has the licensing information and some users are losing transactions. They would put a record in and they lose what they put in.

I socured the SP7 issues document that came with SP7, but I couldn't find anything that would have changed it. What could service pack 6 or 7 have added that screws up DOS apps?

Usual question to ask.... is file caching switched on?

Type SET CLIENT FILE CACHING ENABLED at the console. If it is ON, switch it off

So I just type that at the system console? That can be done at the client level can't it? If so, we've already done it.

I don't trust the client setting for that. It's too easy for users to go in and muck things up. You should do it on the server so you know for sure that it's turned off.

Where do I go to change the value? I'm poking around in the Autoexec.ncf looking for the FILE CACHING.

NM, I just did it from the console. I just typed in SET CLIENT FILE CACHING ENABLED=OFF.

I'm a Netware n00b.

You guys were a HUGE help. I just noticed that all of our servers with the DOS problem had File Caching set to ON and the ones with no problems had it set to off. Coincidence?
