I recently installed service pack 2 and all went well for a week. Yesterday I noticed that the local area connection on the taskbar was missing. Then I noticed that the Network connections info was missing in control panel. I could not click on network setup wizard. I decided to uninstall the network card software and reinstall it; no luck. Then I noticed that I could not get into the local security policy folder. Is this a service pack 2 problem or what? I am the administrator and sole user of the computer. The last thing that I did before the problem was to install a shareware IP camera program, which worked.

At the Start/Run prompt, do:

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\netshell.dll
