I was on 4.1.x and did an upgrade to 5.0.18. Ever since I've had an alarm in my Service Alarms that says:

Attempt to use a feature for which no license is installed. License Type: IP500 Universal PRI (Additional Channels).

I honestly don't know what this is about. It never showed up before the version 5 upgrade and everything appears to be working just fine. My tech says 'It could be an Avaya glitch' and dismissed the problem.

Any ideas? Thank you!

your tech is awesome isn't he.

How many channels are on your pri from the providor, how many do you have set on the line tab? what licenses do you have on the system?

Get well soon Aaron.

Here is a screen of the licenses: Only thing that stands out to me is the duplicate licenses for Phone Manager Pro IP Audio Enable(users) and one is expired...

I have 23 channels each on 2 PRIs (one local and one long distance).

the unit is an IP500, I'm assuming that is what you are referring to. Thanks.

Is there a way of telling from inside the config? I'm not at the location at the moment.

then i would ignore the error, SSA does do that sometimes. you don't have a universal card. that card has all of the channels enabled by default. no licensing needed.

looks like your tech guy got something right.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'll just add it to this one since it is an alarm.

Since the installation of this IP Office 2+ years ago, we have a constant alarm that says:

8kHz clock source changed. Previous source was Internal.

Our tech says this has something to do with our provider and there's nothing he can do. I honestly have no idea what this means or what the problem is. I'll restart the system and it the alarm will go away for awhile but it always returns.

it is just letting you know that the PRI is clocking off of the provider and not internal. it is normal.

If I was your tech I might be a little upset you haven't believed a word he said when he is generally correct!!

If you trust your guy, believe what he says. If not, find another that you do trust.

I honestly just wanted a second opinion on some alerts that constantly plague my system.

See here for more info on what my tech has had problems with:

I'm just trying to learn about this system more so I can manage it myself. Since I've decided to do so I've been able (with the help of the awesome people in this forum) to configure a lot of features that my tech would ignore or claim wasn't available; like hold music and multiple conference rooms for example.

The tech is a nice guy and all, but being nice isn't going to get my company the most out of our IP System. Thanks!
